Connect your own Google Drive or Dropbox to save results there and to open their files in Macaaw tools. OneDrive and SharePoint work in Macaaw Scan.
Before you start
- Google Drive and Dropbox are included in Pro and Business. Each person connects their own account; in a Business workspace members can connect theirs too.
- The usual file-size limit of your plan applies to imports.
How to connect Google Drive or Dropbox
- Open Integrations in your account and choose Connect on Google Drive or Dropbox.
- Sign in and allow access. You come back with the message … is connected.
- Saves go to a folder called Macaaw at the top level (created on the first save). To use another folder, choose Choose folder, open the folder and choose Use "…".
How to save a result or a library file
- On a result page, choose Save to Google Drive or Save to Dropbox next to Download. All result files are saved and the page shows Saved to … with a link.
- In the Library, choose Save to Google Drive or Save to Dropbox on a file.
How to open a file from Drive or Dropbox in a tool
- On a tool page, choose Import from Google Drive or Import from Dropbox under the upload box.
- Open folders and choose the file. It is added to the tool like a file from your device.
- In the Library, the same button copies the file into your library.
How to save workflow results automatically
- Save the workflow first. Then, in the workflow editor under After the last step, choose Save to Google Drive or Save to Dropbox and a folder, and choose Save step.
- After each of your own runs that runs on the server, the results are saved there. Runs by other members of the workspace are not saved to your account.
If something goes wrong
- Reconnect needed: you removed Macaaw's access in Google or Dropbox, or it expired. Choose Reconnect in Integrations.
- The file is too large: imports follow your plan's file-size limit; Dropbox saves are limited to 150 MB per file.
- Google Docs, Sheets and Slides are imported as PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Can Macaaw see all my Google Drive files?
No. Macaaw asks Google only for the files it creates and the folders it makes, plus files you pick. It cannot read the rest of your Drive.
Do files pass through Macaaw?
Saves and imports from Google Drive and Dropbox pass through Macaaw's servers in memory only and are not kept. OneDrive saves from Macaaw Scan go straight from your device to Microsoft.
