Questions
Law firms ask
Can clients sign engagement letters and contracts electronically?
In England and Wales an electronic signature is valid for most contracts, including engagement letters. Wills, and deeds that must be signed in front of a witness, need extra formalities, and Macaaw’s simple electronic signatures are not meant for them. Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own rules.
Is the redacted text really removed?
Yes. Redact PDF turns each page you redact into an image with the marked areas blacked out and drops the original text on those pages, so nothing can be selected or copied back. Check the result before you send it, as you would on paper.
Can your staff read our files?
No. Staff can see file names and sizes for support, never the contents. Browser tools never upload the file at all, and server files are deleted within 2 hours.
Can I compare a PDF against the Word draft?
Convert the Word draft to PDF first, then compare the two PDFs. The report marks text and layout changes page by page.
Do you offer a data processing agreement?
Yes. Business includes a data processing agreement under UK GDPR, and our security page explains where files are processed and how long they are kept.
