Up to 25 MB per file · 25 files at a time on your plan

How it works

  1. Add your PDFs

Click Choose file or drag two or more PDFs onto the page. On Free you can merge up to 25 files at once.

  2. Put them in order

Move files up or down, or sort the list by name (A to Z or Z to A) or by size. The first file's pages come first, then the second, and so on. You can also add a blank page between files.

  3. Merge and download

Press Merge to build one PDF and save it. The file is named after the first file, with -merged added.

About merging PDFs

Merging is useful when a form, application or report has to be sent as a single file: a CV with a cover letter, scanned receipts for an expenses claim, or chapters written by different people. Pages are copied across exactly as they are, so text stays sharp and selectable, links keep working and nothing is recompressed. Pages keep their own size and orientation, so an A4 letter and a landscape spreadsheet can sit in the same file. Sorting by name puts numbered files in natural order, so part 2 comes before part 10. For double-sided printing, you can add a blank page after every file, or only after files with an odd number of pages, so each document starts on a fresh sheet; a blank page takes the size of the page before it. If you need to change the order of individual pages rather than whole files, or turn a page that was scanned sideways, merge first and then use Reorder and rotate. To leave out a few pages, use Delete pages on the merged file. If the result is too large to email, run it through Compress PDF. Files that need a password to open must be unlocked first with Unlock PDF; files that only restrict printing or copying can be merged with a notice.

Limits: at least 2 files; up to 25 files per task on Free, 100 on Pro and 200 on Business; each file up to 25 MB with a free account, 200 MB on Pro and 500 MB on Business. Browser tools have no daily task limit.

Before you sign in, files can be up to 25 MB. A free account raises this to 25 MB.

Privacy: this tool runs entirely in your browser; the file never leaves your device. Nothing is uploaded, so we have nothing to store or delete.

Merge PDF: frequently asked questions

How do I change the order of the files?

Move them up or down in the list, or use the sort buttons to order them by name or size, before you press Merge. The list order is the order in the final PDF.

Will merging reduce the quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are, without recompression, so text and images look exactly as before.

How many files can I merge at once?

Free allows 25 files per task. Pro raises this to 100 and Business to 200. You can also merge in rounds, merging the result with more files.

Can I merge PDFs on my phone?

Yes. The tool works in mobile browsers on iPhone and Android, choosing files from Files, Photos or your downloads.

Can I add blank pages between the files?

Yes. Choose After every file, or After files with an odd page count so each document starts on a new sheet when you print on both sides.
