About converting PDF to PowerPoint
Sometimes the only copy of a presentation you have is a PDF, or you want to reuse a few pages of a report in a talk. This converter creates one slide for every PDF page, in the same order, so you can reorder slides, add speaker notes, insert new slides and present in the usual way. The tool is in Beta: depending on the PDF, a page may come through as editable text boxes or, for complex pages, more like a picture of the page, and the layout may differ from the original. Check fonts, spacing and any text you plan to edit. PDFs that were exported from PowerPoint in the first place usually give the closest result. If you only need a few pages, use Extract pages first so your deck contains just what you need. To make a PDF from slides instead, use PowerPoint to PDF.
Limits: files up to 25 MB with a free account, 200 MB on Pro and 500 MB on Business; up to 3 files per task on Free, 50 on Pro and 200 on Business. Each file counts as one Office conversion: 10 a month on Free, 300 on Pro and 500 per user on Business, shared across the workspace.
Before you sign in, files can be up to 25 MB and you can run 10 server tasks a day. A free account raises this to 25 MB and 10 tasks a day.
Privacy: your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection to our UK servers, processed automatically with no person opening it, and deleted within 2 hours (1 hour on Free), or straight away with Delete now.
How to use the PDF tools: Step-by-step help with every tool, limits and your files.
PDF to PowerPoint: frequently asked questions
Can I edit the text on the slides?
Often, yes. Because the tool is in Beta, some pages, especially complex ones, may come through with less editable text than you expect.
Does every page become a slide?
Yes, one slide per page in the same order. Remove pages you do not need with Delete pages first, or delete slides afterwards.
Will the slide size match my PDF?
Slides follow the proportions of the pages, so a widescreen PDF gives widescreen slides and an A4 page gives a portrait slide.
Does it work with Google Slides?
Yes. Upload the .pptx file to Google Drive and open it with Google Slides.
